Stacy writes, "How do I balance working 40 hours per week, having a family and being a full time student? "

Answer: Essentially your have 3 full-time jobs. Balancing all 3 simultaneously is difficult, at best. In order to balance most effectively, you'll need a number of people you can count on as part of your support network. Create a network of friends, relatives, neighbors, bosses, work colleagues, professors, librarians, and various professionals to be part of your support team. Enroll your family in your goals and get their cooperation and support. You'll need them to take on extra responsibilities at home and help provide opportunities for you to complete homework and class assignments.

Perhaps, your employer may be willing to allow you a flexible work schedule or the opportunity to telecommute. Essentially, though, your employer expects you to be a productive and effective employee. Minimize the work demands by staying focused and on-track while at work. Wasting time at work would be terribly inefficiient for you.

You must also get extremely well organized at home and with your studies. Optimize your time and utilize whatever resources are at your disposal. Re-analyze how things are going throughout the semester and consider working part-time or attending school part-time, if possible to ease some of the stress and burden you have created. And, lastly, I wish you much success in this endeavor! Stay focused on your goals and be flexible to achieve them without 'killing' yourself in the process. Best regards, Coach Natalie
