Where to Start?

Question: I have boxes that are overflowing with pictures, cards and artwork. Where do I start?

Answer: Starting your memory organization project can feel overwhelming. Here are some simple steps that will help you get started:

  1. Organize all memorabilia into chronological order, separating by year
  2. Organize each year by event (i.e. birthdays, holidays, vacations, children's school work, artwork, family outings, etc.)
  3. Organize event by type of memorabilia (i.e. Photographs, cards, letters, artwork, documents, awards, etc.)
Now you will be ready to get started scanning your photographs and memorabilia. Try to break the project down into smaller pieces (i.e. organizing last year's holidays.) It will give you a huge sense of accomplishment once you see your progress.
