5 Essential Pregnancy Superfoods

by Amy Marlow

Here are five superfoods that are great for your developing baby and good for you, too!
  1. Berries: Berries contain antioxidants that rid the body of cell-damaging free radicals, while also containing a large amount of vitamin C and fiber.
  2. Eggs: A great source of protein and vitamins D, A, and B12, eggs are also one of the best food sources of choline, which is an essential nutrient that boosts fetal brain and memory development.
  3. Leafy Greens: Greens are high in folic acid, a must-have nutrient for expectant moms, and are often rich in iron, potassium, calcium, and magnesium, all essential nutrients for a baby’s growing body.
  4. Omega-3 Fats: These fats help support a healthy, developing baby brain (and boosts their brainpower), as well as their circulatory system. HAPPYFAMILY’s two new products, HAPPYMORNING and HAPPYSQUEEZE, are a perfect option as they contain the supergrain Salba®, which boasts omega-3 fatty acids.
  5. Yogurt: Yogurt is a great source of zinc, a mineral essential for tissue growth and repair. It also helps create the bricks of babies’ DNA. Another plus is that it is high in calcium, helping the growth and stability of the baby's bones.
