They have an expansive equestrian facility but also offer a huge assortment of other family-friendly activities. Like most other western-style guest ranches, Averill offers skiing, tennis, whitewater rafting, fishing, and even golf. Activities are endless, and the scenery is breathtaking. The white peaks of Glacier National Park are just north of Bigfork. The lodge is located right on the shores of the largest natural lake west of the Mississippi River. The children's program offers a variety of day night activities like arts & crafts projects, children's rodeo and volleyball. Overnight kid campouts are available so bring your sleeping bag. They actually sleep in an authentic Indian teepee. For your convenience local certified babysitters are available to watch younger kids although the cost is not included. Pick-up service is available from Kalispell, Montana which is serviced by Delta, Northwest or Alaska Airlines or from Whitefish, Montana which is served by Amtrak.
